Skyrim Revisited
A STEP-based mod guide created and maintained by Neovalen.
Last Update: 14:29:38 25 May 2013 (UTC)
Skyrim Revisited is a STEP-based guide designed to keep up with the ever changing Skyrim DLC/Mod landscape. It will be updated with more frequency than STEP proper and decisions are based completely upon the creators personal choices. With that in mind, it may require tailoring it to the users specific CPU/GPU setup. In general, the author uses 2048px sized textures where available (unless otherwise indicated). The complexity level of this guide is greater than STEP proper but is designed to be as error-free an experience as possible while using complex tools.
The system used for the creation of this guide is as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K @ 4.5Ghz
MOBO: Gigabyte G1.SNIPER 3
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz
GPU: EVGA 670GTX Superclocked 4GB (SLI)
Should there be any questions or concerns, please feel free to message Neovalen on the Nexus/STEP forums or post here.
The primary function of this tool is to provide a default ordering between various mods and to help identify mods that require cleaning with TES5Edit.
The primary function of this tool is to assist BOSS with ordering mods not currently in the BOSS master list and to override any improper ordering.
The primary function of this tool is to optimize and re-mip the vanilla and high res DLC textures. Selected mods may also fall into this category.
The primary function of this tool is to allow the user to quickly and easily switch between various ENB configurations.
Mod Organizer is the mod manager of choice for this guide. The reasons for doing so are listed below:
1. Profiles allow us to have multiple configurations set up per character/function and does so cleanly by NOT touching the Skyrim data folder or ini files.
2. Mod Downloading via NXM allows us to download mods directly into the tool using the "Download With Manager" button on the nexus web site.
3. Mod Version Tracking allows us to leverage the power of the nexus to track major mod updates. This is not a replacement for the track file option on the actual site for optionals!
4. NMM Installer Compatibility allows us to use Nexus Mod Manager installers.
5. BAIN Installer Compatibility allows us to use BAIN packages.
6. Manual Installation Option allows us to select the data folder in an archive manually, allowing us to fix path problems at install time.
7. Sort By Category allows us to easily sort through a mass number of mods easily.
8. Run Executables allows us to use tools such as BOSS, BUM, Wrye Bash, and TES5Edit without physically touching the data folder.
The primary function of this tool is to clean dirty edits and UDRs from the .ESMs and .ESPs that Skyrim will be loading, including the game ESMs.
The primary function of this tool for the purposes of this guide is to create Bashed Patches which will merge the leveled lists of the various installed mods.
In this section, this guide will cover initial setup of the Skyrim modding environment.
The first step is to run the launcher to generate a fresh set of ini files for the current patch and set the initial options.
Start The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim through the Steam context menu to open the launcher. Click "Options". Click the [Ultra] push-button. Set "Aspect Ratio" and "Resolution" through the drop down box. For most users this will be 16:9 Widescreen and 1920x1080. Set "Antialiasing Level" to Off through the drop down box. Set "Anisotropic Filtering" to Off through the drop down box. Check the "Windowed Mode" check box. Click the [OK] push-button to close the dialog and save.
The second step is to run the game so that the in game options are properly added to the ini files.
Click "Play" on the launcher to start Skyrim. On the main menu, select "New Game". Allow the game to run until the SKYRIM logo has faded away and access the menu by pressing [ESC] on the keyboard. In the menu, select "Settings" then "Display". Scroll down the display menu and mark an X next to "Dialogue Subtitles" and "General Subtitles". Press [ESC] to go back to the category selection menu and select "Gameplay". Scroll down the gameplay menu and remove the X next to "Save on Rest", "Save on Wait", and "Save on Travel". Click the right arrow on the selection bar next to "Save on Character Menu" until "Disabled" is selected. Press [ESC] until back at the main menu and exit the game.
These settings will be saved into the ini files created by step one upon exiting the settings menu. The reason for these settings are:
Many characters added by mods do not have voiced dialog. - Subtitles must be enabled to view this content. Autosaves and Quicksaves in Skryim are not generally safe. - They may cause CTDs when loading a new area and problems can arise with scripted mods.
The third step is to set up the editing environment for the Creation Kit. By default the Creation Kit cannot load multiple master files or properly load DLC content. The initial run of the Creation Kit will generate ini files we can modify to enable these options.
Start the Creation Kit through the Steam context menu. Once the Creation Kit is loaded, exit the program. Navigate to <Skyrim Path>(where CreationKit.exe is located) and open SkyrimEditor.ini. At the bottom of the [General] section, add the line "bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1". Locate the line starting with "SArchiveList=" and after Update.bsa add ", Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa". Locate the line starting with "SResourceArchiveList2=" and after Update.bsa add ", Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa". Save and close the file.
The fourth step is to initially set up our mod manager and create a vanilla Skyrim profile.
Start Mod Organizer. If this is your first run, Mod Organizer will prompt you to select which game you wish to mangage, select Skyrim. Mod Organizer will then prompt you to show a tutorial. I highly recommend you click [Yes] if you are not familiar with the tool. Click the [Configure Profiles] button at the top of the window. The icon looks like an id card. Verify "Automatic Archive Invalidation" and "Local Savegames" are unchecked. Click [Create] and type "Vanilla Skyrim" in the text box. Verify that "Default Game Settings" is unchecked then click [OK]. The "Vanilla Skyrim" profile should appear in the list. Select the "Default" profile and click [Remove]. Select [Yes] when prompted. Close the dialog by clicking [Close]. Verify that "Vanilla Skyrim" is the currently selected profile in the "Profile" drop-down above the left-pane of the Mod Organizer window.
The fifth step is to properly configure your graphics driver for a stable and beautiful Skyrim experience.
For Nvidia video cards, Anisotropic filtering enabled through the driver is superior to the built-in game engine. To enable this for maximum effect, do the following:
Follow the guide located here to set up Nvidia Inspector and your settings.
For ATI video cards, Anistropic filtering must be enabled through the built-in game engine.
Open the AMD Vision Engine Control Center and configure as specified here. In the Mod Organizer window, click the [Tools]>[Edit Ini] button at the top of the Mod Organizer window. The "Log Viewer" dialog box will appear. Click the [SkyrimPrefs.ini] tab in Mod Organizer. Change "iMaxAnisotropy=1" to "iMaxAnisotropy=16" Click [Save] to save changes and exit the log viewer dialog.
The sixth step after configuring the video driver is to finish setting up our mod managing options.
Click the [Settings] button at the top of the main Mod Organizer window. The icon looks like a screwdriver and wrench. (Optional)In the "Settings" dialog, click the [General] tab and in the "Style" drop down select "Dark.qss". In the "Settings" dialog, click the [Nexus] tab. Check "Automatically Log-In to Nexus" and input a valid nexus username and password. Check "Handle NXM Links" and "Prefer external browser" then click [OK]. Click the [Executables] button at the top of the main Mod Organizer window. The icon looks like a pair of cogs.
If all prerequisites were installed correctly, some tools such as SKSE, Skyrim, and the Creation Kit should appear pre-configured in the list. To configure all of the remaining tools, perform the following(using BOSS as an example):
In the "Title" text box type "BOSS". In the "Binary" text box type <BOSS Install Path>\BOSS.exe or select it using windows explorer by pressing the [...] button. Do not select any of the optional check boxes. Click the [Add] button. BOSS should appear in the list. Do this for BUM, TES5Edit, and Wrye Bash then close the dialog by clicking [OK].
By default the load order in Mod Organizer is slightly scrambled. This can be fixed by running BOSS to do a quick sort. Do the following steps:
Select "BOSS" from the drop-down labelled "Start" near the top of the Mod Organizer window. Click the [Run] push button.
This process loads BOSS through the Mod Organizer interface to sort the current ESMs/ESPs. For now this only consists of the base game and DLC ESPs and BOSS will display its results in your default browser. In the Mod Organizer window the load order has been corrected to match the output from BOSS. "Skyrim.esm" and "Update.esm" are at the top of the load order, greyed and checked. To load all the DLC content along with the base game for the "Vanilla Skyrim" profile:
Check the box next to the DLC ESMs in the ESPs tab on the Mod Organizer main window.
Now that an established a clean "Vanilla Skyrim" profile has been created vanilla Skyrim may be run at any time with the click of a button. However, the goal is this guide is to mod Skyrim and so a new profile must be established that will contain "Skyrim Revisisted" and its collection of ini tweaks and mods. Perform the following:
Click the [Configure Profiles] icon at the top of the main Mod Organizer window. The icon looks like an id card. Select "Vanilla Skyrim" by clicking on it then click [Copy]. Type "Skyrim Revisited" in the text box and hit [OK].
Click [Close] to exit the window. Select "Skyrim Revisisted" in the "Profile" drop-down above the left pane. Check the box next to the DLC ESMs in the ESPs tab on the Mod Organizer main window.
In the Prerequisites section, SKSE was installed without the required script files. This preserved a pristine vanilla Skyrim data directory. However, they are required and they will be used to showcase how to add a mod to Mod Organizer. Perform the following steps:
Right-click anywhere in the left pane below the profile drop-down and select "Install Mod...". Navigate to the SKSE archive and click [Open]. Replace the default text, if any, in the "Name" text box with "Skyrim Script Extender". This is the name that will be displayed in the mod window post-installation. In the file tree, navigate to the "Data" directory inside the archive, right-click and select "Set Data Directory". Only the Scripts folder should be visible. Click [OK].
The mod will now be displayed with an empty checkbox in the mod window. This mod is now installed but not yet enabled/visible to the game. Additionally, Mod Organizer does not yet know the version number of this mod s version is displayed with a "?". Perform the following:
Right-click the mod and select "Information...". In the "Categories" tab, check the box next to "Patches" to add that category to this mod. In the "Nexus Info" tab, set the version number to the installed SKSE version number but leave the Mod ID as 0.
This will set the proper version number and indicate that SKSE is not available on the Nexus. However, any mods downloaded into Mod Organizer directly from the Nexus will have one or more of these fields automatically filled. Look at the [File Tree] tab to see the contents of the directory that will be virtually placed inside the Skyrim/Data directory. Note the meta.ini file is shown which Mod Organizer uses to store all the related data for the mod and it will not be visible to the game when executed.
Click [Close] to save and exit the window.
Note the version number adjacent to the mod is now properly displayed. Mods that can be verified via the Nexus will be either Green(Current+) or Red(Out Of Date). To make the mod visible to the game:
Check the box adjacent to the mod name.
The files located inside this mod will now be visible to any programs executed through Mod Organizer as if they were placed inside of the <Skyrim Patch>/Data directory. Any conflicts are handled by Mod Organizer in priority order (higher priority overwrites lower priority). Give this a try now:
Select "SKSE" from the "Start" drop-down and click [Run].
This will execute the game through Mod Organizer using the SKSE_Loader.exe. The Mod Organizer window will close as SKSE is pre-configured to do so. Note that SKSE is now properly installed with all included script functionality.
Exit the game.
At this point in the setup, Mod Organizer may swap between an SKSE enabled profile "Skyrim Revisited" and a non-SKSE enabled vanilla profile "Vanilla Skyrim". If it is desired to play the game in a pristine vanilla form at any time simply select the "Vanilla Skyrim" profile then select and run "Skyrim" in the "Start" drop-down. Alternatively, you may run the game directly through Steam as the vanilla files are not changed.
The seventh step is to use TES5Edit to clean ITMs and UDRs from Bethesda's ESMs. This improves compatibility between mods and lessens the chance of instability in Skyrim. Perform the following:
Start Mod Organizer. Select "TES5Edit" from the "Start" drop-down box and click [Run]. Right-click inside the file listing and select "None". Check the box adjacent to Update.esm and click [OK]. Wait for the message "Background Loader: finished" to appear in the right pane. Right-click Update.esm and select "Apply Filter For Cleaning". Wait for the message "[Filtering Done]" to appear in the right pane. Right-click Update.esm and select "Remove Identical To Master Records". Wait for the message "[Removing Identical to Master records done]". Right-click Update.esm and select "Undelete and Disable References". Wait for the message "[Undeleting and Disabling References done]". Click the [X] on the title bar to close TES5Edit. Verify the box adjacent to Update.esm is checked and also that "Backup Plugins" is checked then click [OK].
What this process has done is removed any improperly removed records or edited records that were identical to the base Skyrim.esm file. Do the same process for all of the DLC ESMs in order. Do NOT attempt to clean Skyrim.esm itself.
To resolve this problem, perform the following:
Navigate to <Mod Organizer Path>/overwrite/TES5Edit Backups and move all of the backup files to <Skyrim Path>/Data. Select all the ESM files in the <Skyrim Path>/Data folder except Skyrim.esm and move them to the <Mod Organizer Path>/overwrite directory. Rename the .backup* files to their original name such as Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm and so on.
This process has restored the original files to allow the game to run in a pristine vanilla state via Steam. However, when running modded Skyrim through MO the cleaned files will always be used. Cleaning files should not negatively alter the functionality of the game even in a vanilla environment. Keep in mind that ALL profiles use the contents of the <Mod Organizer Path>/Overwrite folder.
Therefore in the current set up:
Step one to optimizing the Vanilla and High Resolution Texture Pack DLC textures is to extract them. Do to so, perform the following steps:
Execute the DDSOpt tool. *Note: Do NOT run this through Mod Organizer. DO run this as an Administrator.* In the "Ignore" drop-down select "Don't process any of the known file-types at all". Click the [Browse] button near the top text-box and select the Skyrim - Textures.bsa in the <Skyrim Path>/Data folder. Click the [Browse] button near the bottom text-box and select a temporary directory where the textures will be extracted. For example, C:/Working/Vanilla. Check the "Show Recursive" box below the center text-box. Click the red [X] to deselect all files. In the center text box, type "*.dds" and then click [Apply]. Click the green checkmark to select all filtered files. Clear the center text box and click [Apply]. Click the [Process] button in the bottom right corner.
This instructs DDSOpt to extract all the files of type .dds to the temporary directory C:/Working/Vanilla. Repeat this process for all HighResTexturePack BSAs and all DLC BSAs extracting them into their own temporary directories such as C:/Working/HRDLC1, C:/Working/HRDLC2, etc. This is so you have the extracted files should you need to re-optimize for any reason.
Once extraction of all files is completed, optimization can be completed by performing the following:
Execute the DDSOpt tool. *Note: Do NOT run this through Mod Organizer. DO run this as an Administrator.* In the "Ignore" drop down deselect "Don't process any of the known file-types at all". Click the [Browse] button near the top text box and select the temporary vanilla directory(i.e. C:/Working/Vanilla). Click the [Browse] button near the bottom text box and select a temporary directory where the optimized files will be placed.(i.e. C:/Working/Vanilla Opt) Click the "Show Recursive" check box below the center text box in the middle of the window if not already checked. A list of files will appear. Click [Process] at the bottom right corner.
This will process all the vanilla textures into the output directory (i.e. C:/Working/Vanilla Opt). Do the same for all DLC textures into their own separate folders.
Once this is completed, manually install these mods into Mod Organizer by performing the following:
Ensure Mod Organizer is closed. Navigate to <Mod Organizer Path>/mods and create a directory for each optimized texture set. (i.e. <Mod Organizer Path>/mods/Vanilla Optimized) Copy the /textures directory from the optimized folders to the corresponding mod folder. (i.e. C:/Working/Vanilla Opt/textures to <Mod Organizer Path>/mods/Vanilla Optimized/textures) Open Mod Organizer. Check the box adjacent to all of the newly created folders in the mod list.
This activates the newly optimized textures to replace the default textures as a base for your mod installation. The following mods should be currently installed and activated in this order:
That completes the initial setup portion of the guide, and now it is time to install mods.
In the previous section a profile named "Skyrim Revisisted" was created. This is the profile that will be used for the remainder of the guide. Mods to be installed done so in categories and should be prioritized in the order presented. I cannot say this enough - KEEP A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL ARCHIVE IN CASE A MOD IS TAKEN DOWN. Also, it is always advised to run BOSS prior to creating any patches to make sure mods are loaded in the correct order.
After updating this guide for a long time, I find that many times the same records are edited by a plethora of mods and should be included into a general patch to make sure they make it into the final result and avoid having to add them to dozens of patches. These include things such as top level worldspace edits and conflicts between Bethesda's DLC. This section will detail how to make a general patch and sort it into your load order. As a side effect, this will also remove the need to update mods that are not in patch 1.8 format due to missing Worldspace camera data.
Open TES5Edit. Select all the Bethesda ESMs then click [OK]. Expand "Worldspace" under Dragonborn.esm and select the "0000003C" node. Right-click the column for Dragonborn.esm and select "Copy as override into...". Select "<new file>" and click [OK]. In the resulting text box type "General Patch". Expand "Worldspace">"0000003C" and select the "00000D74" node. Right-click the column for Dawnguard.esm and select "Copy as override into...". Select General Patch.esp and click [OK]. Click the [X] in the upper right hand corner, uncheck "Backup plugins", and click [OK].
Open Boss Userlist Manager. Select General Patch.esp in the lower-left pane. Click the "AFTER" selection box and select "BOTTOM". In the adjacent text box type "Extra Late" and click [Save Rule]. Close Boss Userlist Manager and click [Yes] when prompted to save.
The first category of mods is the unofficial patches. These mods provide massive amounts of bug fixes and other miscellaneous enhancements that are completely lore friendly and true to the original design of the game. They are absolutely essential to a more stable and fun Skyrim experience. Unfortunately, mod authors for the most part have not adopted using the unofficial patches as a base for their mod changes. Thus, many mods overwrite records that contain fixes in them. Where appropriate, instructions will be provided to merge the unofficial patch fixes into conflicting mods using TES5Edit.

The user interface, the one constant in all video games. The UI is one of the most important components of a modded Skyrim and as such it comes right after the Unofficial Patches. UI mods can include retextures/redesigns of existing elements or additional elements to make your Skyrim experience even better.

Now that the user interface has been made easier to use and more efficient, the next step is to craft the world of skyrim the way it was meant to be. This includes high-res textures of the landscape, trees, sky, plants, insects, elemental effects, and harvestables. This category also includes minor tweaks to existing quests that help bring the world to life. The exceptions to this category include Actors, Creatures, Equipment, and Sound as they will have their own sections.
These mods are the foundation upon which the World of Skyrim is built.

ENB Series Graphic Modification is a graphic enhancement project for multiple games by Boris Vorontsov which can be used to bring much needed post-processing to the world of Skyrim. Effects added by the tool include:
These effects are controlled by an enbseries.ini and a series of .fx files containing shader code. It is injected into Skyrim by means of a modified d3d9.dll or alternatively through an injector program supplied in the archive. For the purposes of the guide, the d3d9.dll method will be used. Download the latest version from here. To install, perform the following:
Extract the contents of the ENB Series archive to a temporary directory, we will call this ENBTemp for reference. Open ENB Manager and Changer. In the "ENB Version" pane, click [Add]. Navigate to ENBTemp/WrapperVersion, select d3d9.dll, then click [Add]. In the resulting text box type the version number for the ENB you downloaded then click [OK]. Verify that the version you installed is selected in the box. Remove ENBTemp as the file has been moved by ENB Manager and Changer into an appropriate directory.
Author: SkyrimTuner
Version: 1.4e (Option A FULL)
Special Installation: Extract the contents of the archive to a temporary directory, we will call this RVTemp for reference, then perform the following:
Open ENB Manager and Changer. In the "Configs" pane, click [New]. In the resulting text pane type "RealVision ENB 1.4e FULL" then click [OK]. On the "Files" pane, click [Add]. Navigate to RVTemp, select all files listed except Data then click [Add]. In the resulting "Name Palette" text box simply click [OK]. Remove RVTemp as the files have been moved to the appropriate location.
At this point, the main ENB files have been installed and it's time to do some tweaking:
Navigate to <ENBManager>/ENB Configs/RealVision ENB 1.4e FULL and open the enbeffect.fx file in a text editor. Remove the "//" next to "#define APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION" to allow night vision to work with the preset, then save and exit. ATI Users: In SkyrimPrefs.ini, change "iMaxAnisotropy=16" to "iMaxAnisotropy=0" as it will be handled by the ENB. Nvidia Users: Open the enbseries.ini, change "ForceAnisotropicFiltering=true" to "ForceAnisotropicFiltering=false" as the driver is doing this for you. Also disable any driver-based anti-aliasing you may have set using Nvidia Inspector.
Now that the ENB has been customized for use with the guide:
In the ENB Manager and Changer window, click the [..] and navigate to your base Skyrim directory (where TESV.exe is located) then click [Set]. Click [Activate] then exit the program by clicking the [X].
ENB Series with the RealVision preset is now installed and configured, to use it simply start the game as usual.

The following INI tweaks aim to increase your gameplay and visuals in Skyrim by tweaking the game engine to provide a better than vanilla experience.
The first step to editing the SKSE.ini is to create it. Perform the following:
Right-click Skyrim Script Extender in your Mod Organizer mod list. Select "Open In Explorer". Create and enter a folder named SKSE. Create and open a text file named SKSE.ini.
Once this file is open to be edited, paste in the following:
[General]
ClearInvalidRegistrations=1
[Display]
iTintTextureResolution=2048
This enables self-healing of saves and high resolution tint masks.
Save and close SKSE.ini then exit explorer.
Skyrim.ini controls half of the configuration for the Skyrim game. Each of the following ini changes have been confirmed working in game. If a section exists, simply add the tweak to the bottom of that section or update existing parameter if present. If a section does not exist, add it at the bottom of the file. Perform the following:
Open Mod Organizer. Click [Tools]>[Edit Ini] at the top of the window. Verify skyrim.ini is selected and input the tweaks in the following subsections. Click [Save] and close the window.
This tweak shifts the point of aim to the center of the aiming reticule for arrows and crossbows (with this setting targets will be hit where the cursor is placed at approximately 100 feet from the target). This has been adjusted to work with 50% faster arrows/bolts from Arrows and Bolts Tweaks.
[Combat]
f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.5
f3PArrowTiltUpAngle=1.0
f1PBoltTiltUpAngle=0.3
f3PBoltTiltUpAngle=0.4
This tweak will update the distance projectiles can travel to allow for "sniper" bow shots. In Vanilla, after ~4000ft your arrow will simply disappear into thin air.
[Actor]
fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist=12288.0000
This tweak will allow you to load directly into the main menu without the annoying Bethesda splash screen video.
[General]
sIntroSequence=
This tweak increases the amount you can see on the screen.
[Display]
fDefault1stPersonFOV=85.0
fDefaultWorldFOV=85.0
Adjust angle as you see fit, my recommendation is 85 degrees.
This tweak allows more grasses to load per texture tile.
[Grass]
iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=6
Yes, I really meant Texure.
This tweak helps prevent lighting “pop-in” by pushing back the distance at which the flicker/pulse animation loops begin.
[General]
fFlickeringLightDistance=8192
This tweak allows the engine a little extra time on the load screen to make sure any complex scripts running are allowed to execute before exiting the load screen.
[Papyrus]
fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=1000.0
This tweak increases the frequency of ranged or magic killcams to 100% as long as it is a killshot. You still may not get killcams 100% of the time, due to Bethesda coding errors post 1.6/1.7 patch but it works fine for me.
[VATS]
fVATSCastingAfterKillDelay=1.2000
uVATSRangedPercentSneak=100
uVATSRangedPercentGlobal=100
bVATSIgnoreProjectileTest=0
bVATSAllowNoKill=0
bVATSMultipleCombatants=1
bVATSForceRanged=1
Alternatively, if you do not like slow motion melee kill cams or ranged kill cams disable them by using the following:
[VATS]
bVATSDisable=1
This tweak fixes the shadow flickering caused by updating sun shadows.
[Display]
fSunShadowUpdateTime=0
fSunUpdateThreshold=2.0
SkyrimPrefs.ini controls the other half of the configuration for the Skyrim game.
Select skyrimprefs.ini is selected and input the tweaks in the following subsections. Click [Save] and close the window.
This tweak pushes back the distance for grass and shadows to fade. Minor performance hit.
[Display]
fShadowLODStartFade=400.0000

fGrassStartFadeDistance=18000
This tweak disables mouse acceleration.
[Controls]
bMouseAcceleration=0

iBlurDeferredShadowMask=5
bFloatPointRenderTarget=1
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1
bShadowsOnGrass=1
iShadowMaskQuarter=4
iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=2048 (1024 for better fps)
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096 (2048 for better fps)

Automatic Variants is a mod designed to vary the textures used by various creatures in the world of Skyrim. If a group of wolves attacks you in Vanilla Skyrim they all look the same, with Automatic Variants you can have one grey, one brown, and one black wolf attacking you! No longer are creatures constrained to a single texture mod.
Click [Open] adjacent to "Texture Variants". Select the relevant AV packages and configure each one as referenced in it's installation section.
