Compatible Packs: Pack:Companions, Pack:Explorers Guide, Pack:Immersive Survival, Pack:STEP:Extended, Pack:Skyrim Revisited, Pack:Survival, Pack:War Ensemble, Pack:Weather and Lighting

This pack is built around STEP and Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition. It will change the game of Skyrim significantly. Requiem is not a "hard core" mod but rather one that challenges you to role play and consider situations more carefully. Many enemies are far more dangerous and you will need to take time to learn skills and level up. Dawnguard does not start until you are level 30 as vampires are very tough foes. All items in the world have weight. Fall damage is increased, just surviving getting to Helgen Keep is a challenge in itself. Bleak Falls Barrow is no longer a starter dungeon and dragons are really hard to beat even at high level. The world itself is de-levelled meaning that you can pick up some good gear if you are lucky, but also you may need to beat a hasty retreat when you bite off more than you can chew. I find playing the game far more satisfying with Requiem installed as you are frequently playing with your heart in your mouth, especially if you use lighting and ENB that makes nights and interiors as dark as they would be without light sources.

Mods to be removed or adjusted.

WARNING!! This pack is still WIP and subject to change (but should be accurate). WARNING!! This pack assumes that you use Mod Organizer and have installed either STEP (CORE or Extended) or Skyrim Revisited completely and correctly and you have your game stable before you begin installing this. Failure to do this will lead to problems that may have nothing to do with this pack and may cause various people to stare aghast at their monitors with incredulous horror (or possibly something less dramatic). Help will be ongoing and happily given to those who have got this STEP sorted out first - happy modding ::):

CORE STEP mods to remove:

  • Lockpicking Interface - version already included in Requiem. You can install this after Requiem if you prefer these textures.
  • Main Font Replacement - version already included in Requiem. You can install this after Requiem if you prefer these textures.
  • Clams Drop Pearls - version already included in Requiem.
  • No NPC Greetings - version already included in Requiem. You won't have this in your list if you prepared a STEP install with the patch in mind.
  • Non-Essential Children - version already included in Requiem.

Extended STEP mods to Remove: - As well as those above you will need to remove:-

  • Altar Descriptions - version already included in Requiem.
  • Disease Descriptions - version already included in Requiem.
  • Lock Overhaul - version already included in Requiem.
  • Brawl Bugs Patch - this mod is overwritten partially by EBT and the rest by Requiem.

Mods compatible with adjustments:

  • The Choice is yours - There is a minor conflict with the Sven and Feandal quest. You can either have Requiem's feature which disables Faendal as follower or the choice. Determine this by install order (not load order). Whichever mod's files get installed last win.
  • Dual Sheath Redux - install the Requiem Pack as well. There is a minor incompatibility with the Requiem feature that doesn't allow armor switching during combat. Sheathed weapons will not display appropriately during combat. Either disable the Requiem feature or fight in first person.
  • Even Better Quest Objectives - install the Requiem add-on .esp, it's in the original download.

Mod Adjustments for Skyrim Revisited - Legendary Edition.

  • Main Font Replacement - version already included in Requiem.
  • Dual Sheath Redux - install the Requiem Pack as well.
  • Run For Your Lives - unnecessary as Requiem handles this but you can turn off dragon fear in the MCM if you prefer this mod.
  • Deadly Dragons - Requiem already powers up the dragons but if you want to use DD then it must load after Requiem.esp
  • Realistic Room Rental Enhanced - Requiem deals with much of this and is incompatible.
  • Subliminal Traps 2 - This will be overwritten by Requiem which does the same thing. Though you can safely overwrite Requiem with this if you prefer.
  • Traps are more Dangerous - Requiem makes traps more dangerous so this version is not needed.

NOTE: Do not add stats, names and tweaks to your bashed patch as it can mess up Requiem's armor and weapon values, just use merged mods and leveled lists.

NOTE2: There is no patch currently available for HLE. This may mean that characters added by that mod MAY be a little underpowered sometimes. As soon as a patch becomes available I will add it in.

Requiem Mods for STEP

NOTE: Mods such as AOS and Soul Gems Differ, have their own Requiem patches which you should ensure that you use along side these patches and mods. You will have downloaded them anyway, just re-install them and select the Requiem patch as well as STEP recommendations where they are compatible (installer).

Install in this order (for simplicity's sake).

Mod Name Notes
RequiemLink to the mod's Wiki page. You will need the main file 1.7 and the 1.73 update. Overwrite the former with the latter. Requires patch located on the Requiem Hard Times page (see below) in order to bring it into line with latest Unofficial Patches.
Requiem - Patch CentralLink to the mod's Wiki page. From here you will need Requiem - Heavy Shield Fix (not needed if using Requiem - Hard Times), Requiem - Resources, Requiem - Hearthfires, Requiem - Dragonborn Remade, Requiem - Hard Times or Requiem - USKP, Requiem - Complete Crafting Overhaul (various options depending on set up will need DB version for STEP), Requiem - Weapons and Armor_Clothing and Clutter Combo Patch, Requiem - Trade and Barter Patch, Requiem - Bolts Visualized Patch (Replacer esp STEP Extended only), Requiem - SCRR Patch, Requiem - SPTConsistentOlderPeople Patch (STEP only), Requiem - Cutting Room Floor Patch, Requiem - Improved Closefaced Helmet Legendary Patch
Compatibility patch for Requiem - Bring Out Your DeadLink to the mod's Wiki page. NOT NEEDED FOR CORE STEP. Ensures compatibility with BOYD.

You can merge the Patch Central patches.

Open TES5Edit and select all the patches and click OK. When finished select your patches using control and click or the shift button, when all are selected right click and choose "Apply Script" Then select "Merge Plugins", Uncheck "Renumber Form IDs" then click "OK" choose yes in the next box then Type a name of your choice for the merged patch such as Requiem - Merged Patches, then click "OK". When it has finished, Right click your new file and select "Check for errors", assuming all is OK close TES5Edit. You will then need to move your plugin from 'Overwrite folder" in MO to your Requiem - Patch Central Folder.

Sort your merged plugin after Requiem.esp.

Additional Requiem Mods for SR:LE

This requires all of the Requiem mods needed for STEP and then these others to cover for the mods in SR:LE.

Mod Name Notes
Requiem - Patch CentralLink to the mod's Wiki page. You will need all those patches mentioned above in STEP section and you will need to add these as well for SR:

Requiem - Falskaar, Requiem - Wyrmstooth, Requiem - OBIS Patch, Requiem - Immersive Armors Patch, Requiem - Immersive Creatures Patch (contains options), Requiem - Immersive Patrols, Requiem - RSkyrimChildren Patch, Requiem - Book Cover Skyrim Patch

Requiem - Jaysus SwordsLink to the mod's Wiki page. Load after Requiem.esp and Sharikan's patch (Requiem.esp should be loading after Jaysus Swords anyway).
Requiem - Frostfall Compatibility PatchLink to the mod's Wiki page. Load after Requiem.esp and Frostfall (Requiem.esp should be loading after Frostfall anyway).

When it has finished, Right click your new file and select "Check for errors", assuming all is OK close TGES5Edit. You will then need to move your plugin from 'Overwrite folder" in MO to your Requiem - Patch Central Folder. Assuming that you also merged the STEP pack patches you could now try merging the two together.

Sort your merged plugin after Requiem.esp.

Compatibility with REGS

A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim is for me, a must have pack. It is compatible with Requiem with these additions. Do not install Realistic Room Rental- they change the same things with respect to pricing and are not compatible. This should mean that you can install the ETAC version which includes Inns - works fine for me. All the mods that add quests may or may not be compatible. These mods may still work but it very much depends on how it adds NPCs creatures to the game. Highly likely that some additions will not get the correct stats. Temple of black Rock is compatible so far, Helgen Reborn is getting a patch soon. If you find any mods becoming too easy with Requiem installed let me know and I'll see about making a patch.

If you leave out the "Fight against the Thalmor" mods then you can add Dragon Bridge South when you install ETaC. Bonus!

Mod Name Notes
Requiem - Patch CentralLink to the mod's Wiki page. You will need these patches:

Requiem - Interesting NPCs Patch, Inconsequential NPCs patch, Requiem - Falskaar Patch, Requiem - Wyrmstooth Patch and when Requiem - Helgen Reborn.esp comes out you will also need that. NOTE: If you are using SR:LE then you should already have used the Falskaar and Wyrmstooth patches.

You will also need to install the Requiem patch included with Expanded Towns and Villages patch pack.

Patches for STEP CORE, Extended and SR:LE

Here is the first patch (when you get to the link click the smaller blue download button). This should be loaded after the STEP patch. This patch handles all the Requiem conflicts with STEP:Core mods. It is still required if you want a STEP:Extended install as patches for STEP:Extended mods will be presented in a modular fashion. All mods which have entries forwarded are added as masters. This patch is designed to be used with a STEP patch, either core or extended for the version you installed. Some mods will need to be removed from the STEP:Extended patch, a chopped version will be provided in the near future when STEP:Extended compatibility is fully addressed.

STEP - Requiem Patch No mods are currently defined in this section within the Wiki.

Load order and changes for both STEP and SR:LE

Load order needs to be worked out before I am fully confident but a general rule of thumb is to load Requiem.esp after any mods that add weapons and equipment to the game. Requiem - Resources.esp should be after that, followed by Requiem - Hearthfires.esp then Requiem - Dragonborn.esp then the other patches. This will work for now but will probably need fine tuning.

This the load order that I currently recommend. These include patches for mods only in STEP, SR:LE and REGS, so to add mods not on this list go to [Requiem Patch Central and look at the forum entry for Azirok's load order.

This first list is in LOAD ORDER. They can be set in B.U.M. using OVERRIDE: and AFTER: commands. Where you set Rquiem.esp will depend on your own set up. I place it using OVERRIDE: Requiem.esp / BOTTOM: Realism.

All mods that this first list patches should load before Requiem.esp.

ALL OF THE ABOVE CAN BE MERGED. I suggest manually arranging these (or at least the ones you are using) in this order before merging, then once merged hide the old patch esp and let LOOT sort your mods. If using SR and BOSS then sort the new patch as shown.

OVERRIDE: Requiem - Merged Patches.esp AFTER: Requiem.esp

This next list is for mods that need to load AFTER Requiem.esp and indeed all the patches in the above first list. In each case the Requiem patch for that mod will follow that mod in the load order

HOW TO USE THESE LISTS.

Make a copy first then edit that - so that you can always start again if you make an error.

Once you have a copy, go through it carefully and remove any patches and plugins that you don't want or need (should be self explanatory).

Do NOT change the load order though.

Once you have done this change the esp. in the AFTER part of the userlist rule to the esp. directly above it (ADD or OVERRIDE part of the user rule).

This only applies to patches that follow other Requiem patches NOT those that follow specific mods in other words up to and including this plugin "AOS2_Requiem1.7.3 Patch.esp" in my list. Every file after that should remain as is.

NOTE: If you do not use Hard Times then place the Requiem - USKP Patch where "Requiem - Hard Times.esp" is and use the non HT version of any mods that depend on HT e.g. the cloaks of skyrim patch.

Once you have done this and you have checked that there are no errors copy and paste the whole list into your ....steamapps/common/Skyrim/userlist.

If you have any problems or suggestions then please let me know either in the Requiem Pack forum topic or PM me.

LOOT users. I am not supporting that tool yet as it has some inconsistencies about which I do have some concerns for now, but if you do use it then sort all the requiem mods at the end of your load order in the order shown. This is to include any mods that you want to overwrite Requiem which also have patches. In theory, once you have placed Requiem.esp correctly the other mods should follow automatically but you will likely need to tweak their position you can use the above lists as a guide.

Feedback and requests/additions as always are welcome.
