Subject: STEP v2.2.8 Released

Dear {username},

STEP v2.2.8 has been released! <a href=https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11>Download the file</a> and check out the <a href=https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/Changelog/2.2.8>changelog</a> for details on how to update.

With this release STEP:Core is essentially finalized and quickly approaches our 2.3.0 goal. STEP:Extended also achieved some progress with many new mods added, a few moved to different sections and several being dropped entirely. View the changelog for complete details. Both STEP:Core and STEP:Extended now have their own compatibility patches that resolve conflicts and reduce the number of plugins required in the final STEP plugin load.

STEP has become the official forums for Mod Organizer Support & Troubleshooting and Mod Organizer has also become the official mod manager for STEP. This will be permanent going forward, and the Guide will include many details for Mod Organizer's use. This works wonderfully for STEP and helps streamline the installation of STEP mods, which means less confusion and time investment to get Skyrim running with STEP.

<strong>STEP 2.3.0 Overview</strong>
Our v2.3.0 major release is a step closer with the 2.2.8 release. Version 2.3.0 will be our first fully-supported iteration of STEP with Packs (optional mod compilations that follow a specific theme and function). Packs do not necessarily adhere to the STEP Mandate, so this will be of interest to more advanced modders or those that want to expound and/or improve upon the vanilla Skyrim experience.

We cannot present too much detail for 2.3.0 at this time, since we are still in the planning and development stages, but it will represent the next major evolution of STEP. What's more is that 2.3.0 will not abandon the ideology of the STEP Mandate or significantly change STEP so much as it will mark the beginning of the expansion of STEP beyond the vanilla Mandate. Thus, the next iteration will bring many more options in addition to the enhanced vanilla experience for which STEP has come to be known.

Regards,
The STEP Team
