Tick yellow.png I like the effect but I've had issues with CTD using this and other effects mods. I'm trying to see whether the new memory management mods eliminate the problems. Kelmych (talk) 02:04, February 28, 2014 (EST)

Enhanced Blood Textures[edit | edit source]

A note about why I disable screen blood: I mainly play in third person so screen blood makes no sense for that view; however, if you think about it, it doesn't make any sense even in first person. The blood splatters on the "screen" thus breaking immersion because it clearly looks as though it has splattered on a camera lens. If blood were to get into the eyes, you'd be blinded first and then possibly have blurry vision for a bit...not see through the blood splatters as if you're looking through a lens. It's just plain unrealistic. TechAngel85 (talk) 14:05, April 6, 2014 (EDT)

Tick green.png At the very least, we can use the textures. I always turn off the screen blood though, since I play in 3rd person most of the time.Techangel85 (talk) 00:25, February 28, 2014 (EST)
Tick green.png I agree with Tech and Kelmych about the screen blood. Are we playing as guy who's face is a tv screen? EssArrBee (talk) 01:24, April 1, 2014 (EDT)
Tick green.png as tech mentions the textures are good even if we don't want the whole mod. I'm not a huge fan of screen blood in any game but many seem to like it. Kelmych (talk) 01:13, March 8, 2014 (EST)

Skyrim Performance Plus[edit | edit source]

I think we need to see some performance data on this one before deciding. We can gather up a few users with lower-end systems that match or are close to the minimum STEP requirement and have them test it for us. A very quick and dirty FPS compare is all that is really needed. I could probably do this on my friend's laptop. In fact, I could take my video card out and test this using the integrated Intel HD 4600 on my CPU as well. Any users that we know of who could test this? I think Torminater also has a low-end system and he'd be willing. Techangel85 (talk) 10:34, February 28, 2014 (EST)
Torminater has reported back that on his lower-end laptop, he did not see any difference with this mod enable vs disabled. The same FPS resulted. The only thing it might have done is save a tiny bit of VRAM. Techangel85 (talk) 21:14, March 2, 2014 (EST)

Cross red.png Would prefer in a Performance pack. DoubleYou (talk) 00:06, February 26, 2014 (EST)
Cross red.png I have a hard time believing this actually improves performance on any sort of modern system. On my last system, I didn't see any change and on this new system I can't find a place in Skyrim that I drop below a solid 50FPS. Techangel85 (talk) 00:25, February 28, 2014 (EST)
Tick green.png I actually think it belongs in core. It's one of only two texture mods in STEP that attempt to improve performance, and we still have a lot of users with low-end systems. The STEP guide minimum system is very low end compared with the recommended system. Kelmych (talk) 02:01, February 28, 2014 (EST)
Tick green.png Essarrbee (talk) 03:32, February 28, 2014 (EST)
Tick green.png I am pretty sure that anyone will see some frame-rate gain under certain conditions with this mod. To prove it requires careful testing, but common sense says that this is a no-brainer. Hence, this should be Core with a minor tweak to the Notes ~z929669 Ixian Insignia.png Talk 22:34, April 3, 2014 (EDT)
